Paul Loebach is a furniture and product designer based in New York City. Born in Cincinnati, Paul is descended from a long line of German woodworkers and engineers. His grandfather built airplanes for the U.S. military and his father is a manufacturing engineer for Union Carbide. Paul views his projects as a fusion of his family's distant and recent histories. After graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design with a degree in Industrial Design, Paul moved to New York where he apprenticed under furniture creator John Davies. His talent has earned him a roster of clients and the attention of Williams Sonoma and Martha Stewart, leading him to set up his own studio in Brooklyn. He applies his hands-on material approach to a design philosophy that covers a range of industrially manufactured objects from furniture and lighting, to everyday household products. Paul believes that design must balance between the continuity of recognisable imagery and the poetic shift of innovation.
