British-Japanese designer Reiko Kaneko has been influenced by her early years growing up in Japan and this is apparent in her ceramic tableware forms, which are a fusion between the two ceramic styles. After studying at Central St Martins, she established her design studio in London’s East End in 2007 but recently decided to move to Stoke-on-Trent to be closer to the knowledge and production of fine bone china. Working and living in Stoke-on-Trent has allowed Reiko to draw on over 200 years of experience and knowledge held by those who work in the pottery industry. All quality management and distribution is carried out in-house to maintain an extremely high standard. This combined with her high-end designs has enabled Kaneko to offer her beautiful products to some of the best retailers and restaurants in the world. Her Tabletop range is all about the uniqueness of form, respect for the pure white material of bone china and the symmetry of how the pieces fit together.
