The Thunderbird is a thing of rare beauty, a compelling combination of movement and poise designed for rume by Richard.P.Baker. The chair contains so much energy that it appears on the verge of pouncing, a taut, precise statement about the potential purity of functional design. As with all rume chairs and sofas it is handmade to order by our skilled staff in our Sussex workshops, drawing on classic English furniture making traditions and techniques and combining long established practices with proven modern materials. This individual approach means you can specify dimension, fabric, cushion type and layout, even leg timber and stain. As shown in aviation leather the Thunderbird has a solid beech and plywood frame, a sprung seat and back upholstered with multi density foams and solid oak legs.
