hoover building

Chisel and Mouse produce beautifully detailed architectural models of famous and influential buildings. Each model is handmade in their Sussex studio from a strong plaster and has a reassuring weight and cool feel. Added details such as window frames, clocks and doors are made from etched brass and hand fitted to the finished plaster casting. This fantastic model is of the facade of Building No7, one of the Hoover Buildings. Built in the 1930’s to a design by Wallis Gilbert and Partners The Hoover Buildings were a magnificent monument to the art deco movement. With their bold use of colour exemplified by the light green window frames the buildings became instantly recognisable. Building No7 was the last to be built and still survives in its original form.
