This delightful Sake/Shot Cup is by British-Japanese designer Reiko Kaneko and has been influenced by her early years growing up in Japan. Reiko’s cultural dichotomy is beautifully resolved in her ceramic tableware forms, which are a fusion between the two ceramic styles, with her range of Arctic and Bamboo products artfully blending a Japanese aesthetic with a British sensibility. The brilliant white bone china pieces are all hand made in Stoke on Trent, where Reiko now lives and works, and have a lovely translucence and tactility. Designed to work together the individual pieces can be combined to create lovely decorative tabletop tableaus but are also just as effective as beautiful, slightly off balance, single pieces. Delicate but with great practicality Reiko’s ceramics are both dishwasher and microwave safe, which is great as longevity is an important trait in something that is timeless.
