Raimond Puts
Raimond Puts was born in 1937 and if a thread could be said to weave through his life then it would be that of technical engineering. The machine designer he became developed this talent at a very early age when playing with his adored meccano, building elaborate and fabulous mechanisms. During his technical education he trained in the craft of metalwork and a new world opened up for him. He began creating models from cheap materials like strip iron, mosquito nets and paper, experimenting for years with all sorts of shapes & materials, searching for solutions to practical problems with a zen like patience and determination. Over the years his constructions become more refined and by making use of LEDs Raimond found an extremely productive combination, the ideal integration of beauty and functionality. His simple, beautiful designs stand as models for a world in which everything is connected to everything else, where everything fits perfectly. Raimond died in 2012.
