embassy court

Chisel and Mouse produce beautifully detailed architectural models of famous and influential buildings. Each model is handmade in their Sussex studio from a strong plaster and has a reassuring weight and cool feel. Added details such as window frames, clocks and doors are made from etched brass and hand fitted to the finished plaster casting. This lovely model is of the Embassy Court on Brighton seafront designed by Wells Coates in 1935. It is an outstanding example of pre-war Modernism and has achieved grade II listing. Embassy Court is a major Brighton landmark. Reminiscent of an ocean liner; this beautiful, elegant and wonderfully proportioned block of 72 flats with its awe-inspiring sea views is considered one of the coolest places to live in Britain.
