Artemide Nesso

The Nesso table lamp was a simple experiment in light by Giancarlo Mattioli with the the new material of the day, thermoplastic. The result was a dramatic reimagining of the table lamp that captured the space age sensibility of the time and went on to become one of the most famous lights of the sixties. Anything was now possible and it seemed plastic was the right stuff to do it. Reinvented and liberated from its lowly status by a whole new breed of daring designers plastic was everywhere in everything, from chairs to clothes to table lights. Now reissued by Artemide the Nesso is once again available in its original opaque orange and white, some things never get old.
