The Miss K is a delightfully sophisticated table lamp by Philippe Starck for Flos. It is part of the large K Tribe range of table, suspension, floor and wall lights all with the trademark diffuser within a diffuser. With its mirrored inner surface the outer shade becomes transparent when the light is turned on and the inner bowl shaped diffuser becomes increasingly visible. This effect is heightened as the lower reaches of the inner bowl curve away to nothing creating a beautiful fading ghost of light. The lamp comes in three colours, black with gold shade interior, silver and red with silver interior there is also an opaque pleated fabric version. With subtle horizontal lines in the outer shade and its slender trumpet base the Miss K is a lovely feminine piece of tabletop architecture.
